For $120, you'd expect something that would, at the very least, produce sharp images

A few weeks ago I noticed while taking still shots the image was distorted with lines going through them

At first the pic's look perfect from the camera monitor but when you transfer the pictures to your PC or develop the pictures the color looks dull and the image is grainy

But, the bottom line remains: A new camera is unable to produce a crisp, clear, fine detailed image as a 9-years old one with 1/6th the megapixel power and outdated processing technology

But with enough light on the subject it takes excellent images

Camera has poor image and color quality

I have seen great image quality from Sony cameras before, and so expected the same from this camera

Will not win a photography award because of it, but it small enough you can keep it in your pocket and capture a good image (your cell phone does not have as good a zoom or optics as this camera).

With just the default settings, I took pictures in the semi-dark and it produced clear images

The images are very clear with amazing detail.

okay, it's only when you start zooming into the photos you'll notice the slight noise that comes with the photo, other times the noise can be apparent straight away, along with the photo not being as sharp as it could

That worked well as we needed it

Resolution is more than needed, so no problem with that, but the lens was not as crisp and sharp as I had hoped for.

My enlargements from my DSC830 are just as clear as professional as if they come from my larger cameras
