Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone

    • The bass is good but not great.
    • Crisp highs, spacious mids and punchy bass
    • Of all the headphones,(6 in total), I found the Sony MDR7506 to be a headphone that seems to present the music in a natural way, without any fatigue from strong bass or high treble
    • These won't make the bass boom like some kids like but for an audiophile these are top notch.
    • Another website with ratings, opinions, and information is head-fi dot org (just do a search since I can't post live links here). But with all that information I was starting to see that the sonic qualities of the Sony MDR7506 (strong bass, bright highs) are probably appealing to the masses generally and are not so well suited for someone who likes acoustic/wide frequency spectrum/wide dynamic range music (like symphonic orchestra music - Wagner, Mahler, Bruckner, Holst, etc.).Since I also plan to do some location sound mixing I almost kept them since, as the SonarWorks reviewer mentions, they're well suited for that particular use since they have good acoustic noise isolation and the high treble emphasis could be helpful when trying to make sure you're not recording unwanted sounds on location
    • While I'm not a professional, I've always been impressed with my Bose QC-17, but the bass is too strong in those.
    • Good bass and clear highs.
    • They are not bass heavy at all but can produce comfortable solid bass down to quite low frequencies
    • And with smooth and strong bass that's not boomy
    • The one downside was a bit less dynamic bass.
    • If you're looking for listening headphones to modern music with a rich bass response, these will disappoint
    • I prefer that to boosted bass B.S. even for bass heavy music like hip-hop, EDM and pop
    • Bass is great, but not overbearing, Covering the entire ear, it seems that most external sound is blocked, but not all
    • If you want a pair of consumer headphones that will bump up the bass and scoop the mids, grab a pair of Beats (if you're made of money) or stick with Shure/Bose
    • Crisp, clear sound with solid bass.
    • While this is true, I will dispel any hesitation this fact inspires as rather than fake bass/treble, I now hear things in my favorite songs which I didnt even know were there before
    • Don't expect exaggerated bass response
    • Recommend for anyone needing quality headphones for sound editing or to anyone who doesn't like the increased bass, noise cancelation or other modifiers that come with headphones like Beats by Dre, Skull Candy etc.
    • You get a TON of bass out of these, but it's not that ugly, distorted and/or muddy bass sound, instead you hear the entire range of sound, the way anyone would want their headphones to sound (sadly, I haven't found any other headphones that figured out how to achieve what Sony mastered almost 30 years ago
    • I mainly use them to listen to Dubstep and Electronica and the bass is amazing.
    • The frequency response is flat and accurate, so you get what you are supposed to without any overly exaggerated frequencies, The bass is solid and accurate without being overpowering, The mids are clear and the highs are clean.
    • Supposedly the Beyerdynamic pads are great for folks who don't care about exact replication of the audio source, and prefer a little more bass
    • I have owned many pairs of headphones and unless all you want to hear is Head Pounding Muddy Bass Thump these are Great!!
    • Sound is clear on high end and has clear bass sounds which are not distorted.
    • It brings out the clarity and bass from songs
    • Great sound, deep bass, crisp treble, love the cord and the screw-on adaptor
    • I LOVE the sound of these headphones..excellent bass...
    • True Reference Headphones: Most headphones have hyped bass response
    • I have this headphones for at least two months and are really good, deep bass.
    • The Koss are a bit dull in the mid upper bands, but even for a small open back design from the 80's deliver credible bass
    • Excellent sound quality, but the bass is weak for my liking.
    • Nice balance with tight clear bass.
    • but they don't lose any bass
    • The highs are high without being piercing, the mids are ever present, and the lows are low without that cheesy HUGE bass effect like you might find in Beats.*The coiled
    • I simply needed a better set to get the clear bass signatures; otherwise I would find myself vastly underestimating or overestimating how much bass I was producing
    • One of the reasons that these are great for video editing is because it doesn’t add unnecessary bass, but instead is very true sounding
    • Great detailed, LIVELY sound with GREAT bass response
    • The reviews of less than desirable bass is not merited
    • The bass was overwhelming for the music I listen to
    • For flatter better bass on a reasonable budget that isolate very well...there's the Sennheiser HD
    • , they don't sound like you have subwoofers strapped to your ears (I like my bass to really BOOM
    • It is comfortable to wear, has a 9.8 foot cord to connect to your A/V receiver or TV and plays excellent Bass when listening to music on your Stereo/Surround Sound unit and TV
    • The one downside was a bit less dynamic bass.
    • The levels (Treble, Mid, Bass) are perfect, it really has that "true sound" which is why they're used in nearly every recording studio across the world
    • The reason I bought these was because I was tired of getting ripped off my cheap gaming headsets with fake 7.1 sound and non existent bass
    • 6Bose QC25 - A little weak on bass and weak on highs, best ANC
    • With the large diaphragm speakers, the bass really sounds great.
    • Great sound range, especially the bass
    • The bass feels naturally strong and not over powered
    • So we now have 2 sets they reduce outside sound, good bass and smaller
    • awesome headphones, great sound, and great bass
    • My biggest surprise was the very good bass response.
    • Bass is better than V moda m 100, bose qc25 probably at par with Audiotechnica M50x
    • clear bass
    • and I had always loved them even though the bass was insufficient
    • Not nearly enough bass in these, especially used in a commercial situation [music radio dj]theyre also too tight to pull down and wear on your neck
    • Crisp sound, decent bass response (without overwhelming the rest of the sound), convenient folding mechanism, good cord length.
    • My only complaints about these is that the treble is a little bit harsh and the bass is just a tiny bit lacking for my taste
    • ALL the range... listening to music is refreshingly clear and present as they do not muddy up frequencies in an attempt to make the bass louder like many other headphones in this price range do - but I hear the bass more cleanly in these than any other probably for that reason, it's the truest representation for the sound that you'll get for this price
    • Great "true" sound (can still crank them up though ) just no crazy bass or any other freakdom
    • Sound is very clean with just enough bass to rumble you ears
    • the bass is great and not to intense or fake
    • The bass was exaggerated but otherwise excellent sound
    • Unlike many (read Beats by Dre) headphones out there, these aren't tuned to boost the bass, which is a good thing for most types of music.
    • The bass is enough, but if you want sub-
    • Bass was decent with these cans
    • Pros:-Good high notes-Great bass range that never seems to bottom out-Great Mid's-Can wear
    • I do have rather large ears, and so they don't 'fit over' my ears but rest upon themTone quality is excelent and provides a decent bass with out over saturation
    • Using a short section of the Britten Four Sea Interludes that had some prominent trombone passages as well as bass and treble
    • These headphones serve it all - incredible precise sound quality, great bass, amazing professional design and they're super comfortable (seriously, you can wear these for hours - no pressure on your ears, super comfy pads, light weight
    • Great quality for the price, wire is long and seems durable, bass is a bit lacking.
    • YMMV.Audio Technica ATH-M50X - highs a little subdued for my liking - 7Beats Studio 2 Wireless - Subdued highs, some mid bass emphasis but not overpowering
    • Nice bass response
    • Sound great for the money I use for recording and listening to rock and jazz good bass response light weight ears might get a little sore over long periods but over all a good product
    • First of all, open-back headphones are the best (I use beyerdynamics) because they have the best sound quality and you don't muddy bass when you talk
    • Just as great as always
    • Really flimsy as I can't get it back on
    • I use these in the studio as well as for the TV late at night
    • These have a tinny sound to them, as well as when listening with them, i hear what sounds like an old 33 1/3 record scraping sound through them.
