These headphones block out a decent amount of ambient noise without making my ears hot

Being over the ear, they block out much of the ambient noise in the room too.

The only problem with them is that when wearing them the ambient noise is cut down so much that sometimes hearing people around you when they try to talk to you can be a problem.
