Using an MD player to listen to MP3s is kind of like buying a bunch of DVDs, then recording them to VHS tape and watching them on a VCR.As far as the software is concerned - if you don't care about transferring MP3s - you don't have to use the SonicStage software everybody whines about!

The software that came with it was more or less easy to use, and I was able to record a mini disc in almost no time at all!It's traveled with me several times on airlplanes, and it's compact size and shape are great space savers in my carry-on bag.
