There is way more than enough vinyl out there these days, although if you're not absolutely devoted to the vinyl sound, a Crosley or ION Audio unit would probably serve you better in terms of value for money spent

I found that ripping vinyl records with the Sony software makes it so much easier than through Audacity.

After reading a few professional reviews that said it was Sony's built-in preamp that held it back, I purchased an outboard phono pre-amp called the "Schiit Mani" (arguably best in class) and indeed it lifted the sound quality to days of romantic vinyl.
