I know there are more affordable comparable lenses in the
-
It blows the kit lenses out of the water.
-
One of the best Sony lenses for the price
-
Great lenses, and better than the 16-50mm zoom that is included in the starter kit
-
This is one of the sharpest lenses from Sony for the NEX series cameras.
-
Great lense
-
but I guess that does not say a lot as most lenses are pretty bad for this system
-
It's a shame that we have such small and lightweight cameras with such bulky lenses
-
One of the best e mount apsc lense
-
Also the optics on this approach that of the 24mm Zeiss and I really with that lens were as affordable as this one (or if Sony made their own version to make it more affordable). One note comparing this to the 35mm f/1.8, they're both great lenses
-
Excellent lenses at a very good price.
-
Samsung NX cameras are similar in size to the NEX series and Samsung has managed to make some pretty good and small prime lenses, so it is possible when made a corporate priority
-
I know it's possible to design more compact primes lenses, because Sigma is doing it for NEX E mount
-
In many low light circumstances where my zoom lenses would be useless, I can shoot with this lens at 1/125 shutter and the photos are crisp and have no motion blur
-
The is an awsome lense, which is good for portrait photo.
-
I am a very long-time Leica user, early on as a professional in NYC, so that I am partial to compact, fast lenses.
-
I am a long time fan of Sony NEX cameras, and I have owned and used many of the Sony brand E-mount lenses available for the NEX cameras, including the Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 Wide-Angle, the SEL1855 E-mount 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 OSS, and the SEL55210 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3
-
There are so few really good lenses available for e-mount which are affordable that the SEL50f18 is a real treasure
-
It is a bit more expensive than other 50mm f/1.8 lenses, but has built in OSS that is very effective and performs superbly.
-
It's by far the best lens that I own for it (can't afford Zeiss lenses)
-
great lense for its purpose
-
One of the best lenses available for the E mount system
-
This is one of the best lenses I've ever owned.
-
All the 50mm prime lenses are compact and fits nicely on nex cameras
-
I use this on the nex 5r and its one of my favorite lenses.
-
Logical lense... reliable, easy, lightweight.
-
goes for the best prime lenses on the Sony A6000
-
To me this lens is what the Sony mirrorless system should be all about--compact lenses with great optics
-
An excellent prime lense that allows me to take excellent portraits and capture points of interest close by with vivid detail of the subject along with smooth bokeh.
-
Love this lens--I skirted around getting a 50 mm because I didn't want another fixed lens, however, I was convinced by the f-stop (not as good as some 50mm lenses out there, but very nice nonetheless).
-
Now sure, prime lenses lack the ability to change the focal length, but what they lack they make up for in quality
-
My favorite E Mount lens (although there are only like 6 available at the moment)This lens takes amazing pictures even in tough lighting conditions (I've almost never used a flash with this lens).Cons -Auto-focus can be a bit slowWith the 1.5 crop factor it's closer to a 75mm lens (a 50mm after the crop would have been better
-
Perhaps the quickest way to drastically improve your photos with an E mount camera like the Sony a6000, a5100, a5000, etc
-
Great E Mount Prime Lens for the A6000.
