The camera worked fine with no lens

Once Sony finally makes an awesome high megapixel compact camera for this 85mm lens I might actually become a photographer.

This is the kind of lens that many hoped Sony would be focusing on when the alpha mirrorless series first came out -- compact size to go with the compact camera but with good/decent performance, but alas that was not the case as many of the FE lenses (especially fast and zoom lenses) are as large as or larger than the equivalent Nikon/Canon lenses.

Yes, I have gone from Canon to a Sony A7rii, and the camera and this lens is phenomenal.
