Case has worn very well, as the black rubber has protected the plastic from scratches.

On my otterbox and many cases the plastic near the holes for headphnes and charger all broke

And id say after about 1.5 years of rough use, the plastic may stay to crack in the weak spots and youll have to replace it

The lines are rubber, while the remainder is smooth plastic - so you mild to moderate grip.

Protection wise, this case is great, but I wish they put lesser rubber lining on the back or match it with the color of the hard plastic

Sturdy plastic with plenty of rubber grip strips along the entire length of the back, two sides and the front egde surrounding the phone's face.

Problem is, hard plastic is slippery- this case solves that too by adding grippy strips to the back

I was worried that the smooth plastic would bother me, given that I've always had hard rubber cases and like them, but the rubber strips give it that feel, for sure

The only criticism I have is that they should have put the grippy nubbins all along the sides of the phone including the very center of the two sides where it is now just smooth, slippery plastic.

The rubber lines on the hard plastic case help absorb shock when the phone is dropped.

The rubber rim around the front protects the screen and the hard plastic rim around the camera prevents scratches

If the hard plastic shell continued all the way around the perimeter, this damage would not have happened

Now the plastic along the bottom is breaking off leaving a nasty sharp surface behind and the edge of the phone unprotected.

After a few falls the solid plastic exterior did crack, but the phone never got damaged and the silicon underneath still keep the phone in place

I was riding a subway train in NY and using the phone one handed when I realized that when the train stopped short I did not have to suddenly grip the phone... it stayed in my hands and did not slide down into the tracks as I had always feared

he loves it and loves the grip back as it doesn't slip now.

Thrilled with the case and I also love the black and white color as it is easy to spot when I put it down.

I love this Speck phone cover as it has a nice grip to it when you're holding it, not slippery like some cases.

But the rubber ridges add a nice grip while holding, as well as on a smooth surface so you don't have to worry about it sliding anywhere.

The rubber grips on the sides and back make for easily holding the phone, as well as keeping it from sliding on a slippery surface
