The sides are having that shiny soft plastic; though they give a good look to the phone and somehow it always made me feel that phone may slip if hands are not fully dry.

The problem is the hard plastic component is simply painted instead of a uniform color throughout.

The only issue I had is removing the case for cleaning, the hard plastic snapped at the corner.

This final drop cracked the outside hard plastic portion (the silver part) so now I need to get another case but the phone was unscratched!The grip of this case is good and not too slippery

The flimsy plastic on the Spigen case cracked while my phone was in my pocket rather than from impact

They're low profile, have hard plastic and hard-ish rubber, they're easy to hold, and they look cool

It would be good to note that the plastic is a bit flimsy when you are putting it into the case and taking it out but it is more than managable.

And its not a boring, shiny all black cheap plastic but a cool dark blue/silver made of good quality materials

I dropped it a couple days ago, on its face, no damage to it but the cheap plastic shell that goes around the colored shell broke

After almost 2yrs on my S8 and multiple drops, the bottom right corner of the hard plastic case was chipped off

Has the raised edge for the S8 design to prevent phone from scratching, simple and elegant Herrington texture in the cases design and simple gold/silver plastic detail that does not chip/scratch easily

So if you plan to fidget OR drop it often in ways where the harder plastic will take the brunt of the impact, I cannot recommend

Since the rubber is meant to be soft and flexible, the hard plastic is meant to give the case structure

The lower back of the hard plastic falls off constantly leaving the rest of the case flimsy and irritating

The textured back is like a solid matte plastic and only slightly improves the grip

The top portion of the hard plastic holds well to the rest of the case, the sides, back and bottom are where the problem lies, though mostly the back

I think I would've been better off though buying a case with a more rubberized border, instead of a smooth plastic one

That means in normal situations when I grab my phone, I'm not grabbing the rubbery TPU but the slick plastic sides

Soft touch rubber is a little slippery but more grippy than smooth glass or plastic

The maroon part of the case is very flexible and rubbery, but the gold part is hard plastic that cracks and breaks very easily

The reason why I cannot still give it five stars is because the hard plastic piece that goes around the case has stress fractured and eventually fallen off

Used this case and the screen cracked as soon as it was dropped

It looks great, is lightweight and the buttons on the sides are the best I've ever encountered on a case - as easy to find and work as not having a case at all

Perfect fix and looks as good as in Ad picture

The phone is too light and delicate as it is...the case is not grippy at all.
