However after using this case for a couple months, the hard plastic outer band has cracked, in the same place as others, where the thin plastic strips connect around the silencing switch

Its like a flimsy rubber band.

The plastic band doesn't break!

Looked great but silver band broke 5 months later.

But the outer band broke at the lightening connector when less than 4 months in.

Its not as great as you think.

One time I did get drunk one night and woke up the next morning and the buttons were missing off the side, still unclear as to how that happened.

The buttons are as fluid and smooth as if you are pressing the buttons of your actual phone.
