Yes, the phone seemed protected in this ugly, low quality case, but, there are probably better cases out there.

Overall: I was actually struggling to decide between this one (sight unseen, of course), and the much more expensive Otterbox Statement in Plum (Apple Store and direct form Otterbox)

As others have mentioned, the two vent holes in the back glass do let in dust but is easy enough to wipe out.

my only complaint is that it has holes in the back that help collect dust and it scratches your phone

It will darken as you use it because your hands will get the case nice and dirty which darkens the red considerably to something approximate to the Product Red phone
