When I plugged it in at my gig the other band members faces lit up when the heard the sound and they all thought it was a great looking bass
Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a steal!
I've always preferred the Jazz bass design when looking for a bass guitar, and when I needed a reasonably priced replacement for my home studio, the 5-string Jazz by Squier was the obvious choice.
What is more, I personally think that the instrument is a great-looking bass
I would definitely recommend this bass to anyone who wants a great looking/sounding bass at a reasonable price.
Add a gator hard shell case and you have a super sweet jazz bass.-EXCELLENT OVERALL QUALITY-EXCELLENT FIT AND FINISH-NO SHARP FRET EDGES-GREAT STOCK DUNCAN DESIGNED PICKUPS
The tone is that of an authentic Fender Jazz and the front, or rear, or both, pickup combinations all sound great.
The tone is classic Jazz Bass, you can probably find any tone you want with the controls
Amazing tone, very close to that of famous J-Bass users such as Geddy Lee, and an extremely versatile range of uses, from practicing to even full time performing
The quality is excellent , it has great pickups and it sounds just as good as my Fender custom shop jazz

I have owned this bass for about 8 months now and can say that this bass is most certainly worth the very inexpensive price tag

j bass (my to-go/all time favorite), and the 50s p bass (also my all time favorite)
and the E string buzzes up and down the frets when depressed
This is a great value guitar for the non-professional looking for a solid 5 string.
I don't think this bass would be a good choice for a beginner's bass but is a great value for someone more experienced who's wanting to explore and experiment with fretless.
The setup was good, stock Fender setup, I like the action a little lower (5/64ths
I did notice that it was not set up at all and the action was horrific when I received it
I would say that if fortune is shining on you and you don't get a "lemon", and you get it properly setup with good action, you will have gotten an excellent bass for a bargain price
Out of the box, the setup was spot-on and the action was great.
I was expecting to have to adjust it out of the box to improve the action and playability, but was surprised that it was dynamite right out of the box

No grounding issues, no buzz, a nice, round tone with plenty of thump, and an impressive range of sounds available.
and you get a good range of tones including dialing out fret noise (if that's what a beginning player wants - I did)
Over time I realized their are other great choices which: a) aren't nearly as heavy, b) have more frets and thus greater range, c) have more accessible frets because the point at which the body and neck meet isn't as wide, and d) have faster fretboards because of finish and shape even though we're talking J-basses and not

Great sounding bass, I am glad Squier are really a different thing from the awful instruments we had back in the nineties
Make no mistake -- it's an inexpensive instrument made in Indonesia, and there are aspects that are sub-par -- but it's highly playable and looks great, and at this price I'm willing to overlook things that don't harm the playability

Don't be fooled by the price, you don't need to spend this month's rent on a bass to get an excellent instrument that is well beyond expectations.
This is a fantastic instrument, far better than it should be for the price
