Staedtler Mars 780 Technical Mechanical Pencil, 2mm. 780BK

    • The Staedtler Mars 780 is a very good lead holder in the 2.0 mm size.
    • This is what a mechanical pencil should be, a nice wide lead that doesn't break under pressure
    • I like 2mm lead for doodling and this pencil works perfectly for the job
    • Great lead holder
    • I wish they had a darker lead than 4B
    • I broke the lead off in the cap one day and used a knife to dig it out, fearing that I was going to ruin the sharpening blade inside the cap
    • An excellent lead holder.
    • I love the fact that as the lead gets blunt, the sharpening tool is right on the push cap and a few turns with
    • I recommend the Staedtler Rotary Lead Pointer; that'll give you dangerously sharp leads if you so desire
    • Holds lead good in place doesn't push in while writing
    • These are great, sturdy lead holders for technical or art drawing.
    • Quality feel, holds leads securely, works smoothly, and nice to have a little lead pointer in the button when my larger sharpener isn't around.
    • This so far is my favorite lead holder I plan to get a few more before the year is out.
    • This is a great lead holder that holds the lead as expected.
    • The lead that comes with it is really hard which is great for sketching light.
    • The problem seems to be in the diameter of the clutch collar which is too small to accommodate the clutch jaws, preventing them from retracting fully on the lead as well as causing internal pinching of the lead on its way out.
    • I had use various lead holders before from others brands including including Faber-Castell and Rotring to name some and all I can say is this is the more comfortable lead holder I've ever handle making me feel I could last forever rendering anything this is not the last model from Staedler Mars 780 C which have lead have the convenience of lead pointer integrated but neither the lead holder I was using
    • Great lead holder.
    • Teaching myself to draw and it’s a great pencil but the lead isn’t dark enough for
    • They also work great for woodworking as they leave a fine-accurate line as long as you have the appropriate lead pointer
    • As others have mentioned, it would be best to swap out for some softer lead(HB and up) if you intend on using this to write and draw
    • Only negative I can think of is the lead it comes with isn't as good as the lead that the old version had.
    • and it has a lead sharper implemented into the cap (the hole)
    • perfect lead holder for work
    • The only downside is the lead is expensive, but for the use I feel that it's worth it.
    • A classic lead holder that I used in my youth
    • Otherwise, the lead will fall completely out the other end
    • The lead it comes with is very hard, but I switched it out for a good old #2 and now things are fine
    • Great price, great lead holder
    • The first was "Staedtler Mars Technical Mechanical Pencil Set, 780SBK" which has a handy spare lead holder and a great eraser.
    • The thick lead makes it very durable.
    • Lead is easy to adjust, and tucks away when not in use
    • They have 7 lead grades available: 4H, 2H, H, HB, B, 2B,
    • The included lead was too hard, thus too light, so bought some softer lead
    • Seems to be a good lead holder, no problems at all.
    • This is not my favorite lead holder in 2.0 mm.
    • I could replace it with a hard lead, soft lead or medium lead.
    • The included lead was too hard, thus too light, so bought some softer lead
    • Overall, this lead holder is a great value at its price, but if you're planning to use it "professionally" it might be a good idea to invest in a nicer sharpener and some good quality lead.
    • If you want to use this for drawing, definitely get a box of 2B or darker lead with it (which I luckily did)
    • Very pleased, works well, wish the lead that came with it was a little softer, but it's a great writing tool.
    • Our sharpener kept breaking the lead
    • A classic lead holder at a good price
    • At 2.0 mm the leads are very sturdy and can take a greater measure of pressure.
    • Mars should offer more lead types (hard & soft ) in their selection and2
    • I always have a good lead with these to mark lumber, concrete, etc.
    • This is the best , is metalic, not heavy , and the lead go aut a litle bit when you push the top , you don't loose the lead
    • The lead almost never breaks and it is easy to sharpen to a needle-like point
    • I could replace it with a hard lead, soft lead or medium lead.
    • However, their leads are free to rotate in the sleeve, and when used for fine work (especially freehand) they squirm around and make the work less legible
    • Seems to be a good lead holder, no problems at all.
    • Great lead pen
    • If the 'button' gets a little squeaky, just pop the push end open and drop a dab of oil in the tube (remove the lead first) and then work the button a few, or a dozen times
    • This lead is strong enough to do that and know i won't damage anything.
    • got on time as e-mailed great job
    • When my daughter began carrying a sketchbook I thought I would see if she likes it as well as I did
