The length makes cable management easier and I'm using some magnetic hooks (replaced the removable hooks with screws) to mount it underneath a metal workbench (again for cable management and space efficiency).The unit is well made, the sockets are nicely spaced and there are both mounting ears on the ends and mounting slots on the back.
