Star Wars: The Old Republic - PC

    • This game does have a interface similar to WOW but for me the experience is well worth it.
    • I'm really angry about it and even though the game is pretty cool if you could play it, it's a terrible experience dealing with the company
    • It integrates story and consequence, and manages to be a good solo experience and a pretty excellent bit of multiplayer fun.
    • They can be a great way to make some quick cash and easy experience
    • However, with the belated inclusion of AA... many users are experiencing stark FPS drops (even with AA turned off).
    • Fun game, played since early beta and other than being a bit repetitive if you choose to play alts, overall an enjoyable experience
    • An excellent experience for Star Wars fans and Bioware lovers.
    • SWTOR delivers a decent PvP experience, but so far it stands out as being much weaker than the other parts of the game
    • Star wars the old republic delivers on all necessary MMO features and then some. whether you are a pvp nut or a pve tragic this game has proven it can hang with the big boys... depth, an engaging narative and fluid combat make for a very enjoyable experience
    • it's just not a pleasant experience.
    • All in all it's a nice experience that is hobbled by no in-game voice communication (yes you can use your own, but it's 2011 - why should we have to rely on third-party software?).Alongside voice, the publisher has made one cost-cutting decision that I strongly disagree with: DirectX9.0
    • Your rewards for being a subscriber are: much faster experience gains, in-game dlc gifts that are teased months before you get anything to keep you hooked, and just enough Cartel* coins each month to make you realize how expensive the stuff in the cartel is
    • The story is poor, the gameplay is subpar, and you are strong-armed into paying the monthly subscription if you want a semi-tolerable experience
    • Somewhat enjoyable one player experience to max level.
    • If all you are looking for is a pure PvP experience you'll most likely be disappointed
    • and you will have had a very nice experience for very little
    • I think it's a game worth experiencing, but the decision is whether to give it a go now, or wait until they add more end game content and hopefully tweak the crafting system.
    • WoW is a much better endgame experience than SWTOR even though I feel like SWTOR is more fun to level, especially if you are into the story
    • In conclusion I loved the leveling experience but grew frustrated by gated access to the endgame content
    • That said, my overall impression is that this doesn't have the strongest MMO community compared to some other games, but I don't have enough experience with MMOs to say for sure
    • PVP also levels at an extreme rate giving enough experience to potentially level just in that by attending 10 or so warzones
    • In the end, by far the worst customer service experience I have ever had
    • You can skip the dialogue by hitting "space" but I think that ruins the experience a little bit
    • I have been impressed with the dev response, having had poor experience in other games, especially so soon after launch
    • Severe penalties in crafting, experience gain, and penalties in level appropriate raids are imposed on Free-to-Play players.
    • 5 years later and still no fun social experiences like Pazaak or Swoop Races among players
    • How true, like Disneyland, fun, great experience but it is still marketing and attempting to squeeze out every last bit of cash from you
    • Clunky controls, horrid controls and a slow cumbersome game experience
    • My experience has not been tainted by WoW, so it is all pretty new to
    • If you want an up to date replacement for KOTOR, a reasonably enjoyable single-player style experience, and, as noted above, if you're someone who likes to take their time and is very motivated by story, then you might well get your money's worth out of SWTOR
    • I, for one, have enjoyed the experience
    • The game oviously isn't going to be what everyone is looking for, but for me it hands down the most enjoyable and fun gaming experience I've had in at least 7 to 8 years.
    • Rather than sending an experienced Knight or even a Master to accompany you, or even go in your stead, it is you who gets to save all these planets
    • A decent single-player experience for about a month, and then you're done
    • Doing group quests with other gamers has always been a great experience for me.
    • However, the frustration of not being able to find a group to run an instance quickly became a frustrating experience, and PVP was no different.
    • Announced in 2008 to much anticipation, it promised a revolutionary gaming experience that would create a new standard in the MMO genre
    • Incredible experience playing this
    • It has been a very enjoyable experience so far
    • You get your own spaceship and there are multiple ways to level and gain experience
    • The experience is so fun that I find myself *role playing with myself* in terms of which conversational decisions I choose and who I choose to help, for example my bounty hunter always remains loyal to his first employer until the contract is complete - it's just good business, after all
    • The dev teams were clearly split and neither one created a particularly good experience
    • Much like old WoW dailies which they removed years ago (should of copied that too Bioware)PvE Questlines / Leveling experience: As linear and boring as Vanilla WoW before the quest overhaul, Cutscenes are nice but this is supposed to be an MMO, shouldn't they of allocated resources to making the game feel bigger than hearing some Jedi / Sith drone on
    • I imagine that this causes a bit of headache for game designers trying to create an enjoyable yet challenging playing experience for players early in the game, yet at the same time the character has very few options to resolve challenges due to the limited skills available at start
    • But overall you have a much wider variety of combinations than you would otherwise find in competing MMOs, and I think this makes for a richer PvP experience
    • Sure the story is different, but the map is repeated, the bosses are even the same and it's not really something you could play on the "other" side and feel you are getting a fresh experience
    • Despite being not as generally involved as it could be, space combat isn't a hateful experience - it is just oversimplified
    • PVP.Endgame PVP consisted of me dying before I could do anything and not earning enough medals (through doing damage and killing other players) to make PVP an enjoyable experience
    • but there seems to be an aura of denial amongst the fandom surrounding this game and the mediocre experience it is presenting its fanbase
    • Who is likely to be disappointed:Experienced players with solid MMO RPG experience and those who remember the great games of the past such as Baldur's Gate 2, Fallout 2, and more recently Neverwinter Nights and Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR), not to mention World of Warcraft
    • It makes for a very frustrating experience
    • It's just not an enjoyable experience
    • If you want a great PVP experience, skip this game
    • This is a situation that will stabilize by 2/1 but it *will* degrade your retail experience
    • I want to complete EVERY quest, not for the experience points and tangible gains, but because I want to make sure everything works out (even if, at least in the case of side quests, it doesn't matter storywise if you skip them).-YOUR CHARACTER is fully voiced, and his/her personality is of your choosing
    • TIME-WASTING EXPERIENCE.
    • The experience is ultimately shallow.
    • Fans of the game will likely take this as subjective babble by one person with a lousy experience, but there are plenty of people (on Amazon and elsewhere) with the same complaint.
