I noticed way too many missed social opportunities and gameplay/design mechanics of what makes a good longstanding MMO

All in all I think it's a pretty good MMO, If nothing else you can try the F2P for a couple of months to form your own opinion.

To be quite frank, this isn't the best *pure MMO* out there.

Most MMO's have auto attack which means you will do a basic attack that does minimal damage, which can allow the player to be a little less hands on when fighting mobs because it's possible the auto attack could kill something for you

All in all I give this game a 4/5, it is a good MMO with a good chance at growing into something great, however it's lack of anything totally new (other than it's great narrative and voice acting

Companions are needed on my PvE quests but do not eneter the warzones with you (although in world pvp companions can fight alongside).Overall this game is a good MMO release when compared to many of the major MMOs released in the last 10yrs.

Character Creation is Severely Lacking for a Modern MMO

I would really classify the Old Republic as more of an RPG with both coop and competitive elements rather than a MMO.

While the game isn't as "realistic" as WoW in the sense that you can't sit in a chair and have critters running around that you can kill as you please, it is very well polished for a fresh MMO

With the fact you can always have one of these with you (starting at about level 8-10), this makes it easily the most solo friendly MMO I have ever played, any class can go through the entire story, 1-50 by themselves

Wait for Bioware to fix most of the above issues, or add content, if they had spent as much effort on every aspect of the game that they put into Cutscene dialogue, this would have been one of the best MMO's ever

I guess I just expected a step to the next level for a modern MMO, and not rehashing what is essentially the same formula that was created ten years ago.

If you are looking for an innovative MMO, your take on this game will depend on your definition of "innovative."

The interface, loot systems, crafting systems, questing systems, and just about everything else seems to be modeled after what folks think a modern MMO absolutely NEEDS to be.

As a former World of Warcraft player and Dragon Age, I highly recommend this game for folks that like MMO's but the rich storylines and cinematics of a RPG.
