Two downsides are that she can pull her arms out pretty easily and it doesn’t make her float on her back like a traditional life jacket which allows water to get in her mouth/face in choppier water.

We tried using a infant/toddler life jacket before in the swimming pool, but those are just too bulky for her to enjoy the water properly

my daughter is a little smaller (25lbs) than the recommended size 30-50lbs, however she loves water so much that I had to do something to keep her safe

All she has to concentrate on is having fun, floating and enjoying the water!

If they are not actively swimming they are sinking as if they are not wearing this

and I am not worrying as long as she wears it.
