The glass is also good if you do a lot of soldering because solder won't stick to it

I chose the glass top design to be able to light the table from underneath to make tracing my designs easier.

Many reviews talk bout the glass top version of this, I received the wood laminate version

It fits in the spot I picked perfectly and the glass makes it wonderful for lighting it underneath for tracing patterns, and it is sturdy.

To top it off, since the rod does not fit the legs to hold it into place, the table easily collapses and the glass can shatter and really hurt anyone around you or you, your work, and your floor.

Currently, all of that beautiful glass is covered up and the table has an art easel on it - which yes nearly defeats the purpose.

If I had it to do again, I'd spend the little extra for the glass topped version
