Plug the power strip into the top outlet of the GFCI outlet and, using a drill bit (not in a drill, obviously) or other item, make a mark through the center hole on the underlying outlet cover through the power strip's center mounting hole.3

But I did find that if you plug this adapter into the top GFCI outlet, the screw on the adapter magically lines up with the screw holding the outlet into the box, so here's what I did: (1) Cut off the adapter's plastic post, (2) remove the GFCI outlet plate, (3) remove the top screw holding the outlet in the box, (4) cut a hole/notch in the top edge of the wall
