The watch itself is just cool looking and very comfortable.

Also, and this may be more of a subjective impression, but it seems like this model captures the GPS signal a bit faster than the old one; I know that when you do plug it into the computer (which you need to do for charging), data download from the watch and syncing with settings and updated satellite information is *much* faster than it used to be, and so far seems to occur with fewer hiccups

Suunto products catch a GPS signal almost immediately, and the ultra-modes work great for super long races.

Well, there goes the primary reason I got the watch, longer battery life to last those 50+ mile ultras and longer.

Battery life is good, Movescount App works great (Android) and the GPS has worked every time with minimal delay.

However, what I appreciate most is altitude and this is what sets the watch apart.

Personally, I prefer GPS-derived altitude since the range of accuracy is higher than the range due to barometric pressure differences.

This is my second Suunto running watch; it replaces my Ambit 2R. I purchased the Ambit3 because the HRM chest strap that came with the Ambit 2 broke (the electronic "guts" still work fine; the problem was a small piece of plastic on the clasp, a known issue that Suunto seems to have remedied)

Costumer service was prompt and very helpful in providing information and updates on correcting this problem

Smart features can be a bit flaky but the heart monitor is awesome and very accurate.

The track back feature gives me peace of mind when I'm running a new trail alone, that if I get lost, it will always bring me back to where I started

The problem with Suunto has always been the quality of the straps

The watch does not keep precise time as well

Can clean in the shower, white has gotten dirty a few times, but it always comes off.

Initially, the Movescount app would not sync in accurate time with Strava, but they have that fixed now

A good value at a good price

So if your looking for a truly functional watch to use to pace yourself running, this is a really great, well priced watch.
