Just enough extra staple length to cover where a standard 1/4" staple is too short.

If you choose the correct length staple for the job required, it's wonderful (If anything stronger is needed you would have to purchase from industrial sources such as: Shipping Departments, Factories and Carton Manufacturing Facilities)

No problems so far at all, just make sure you get staples that are the right kind and length.

The 1/2-inch staple had enough length to fully secure the document and fold underneath the last page, and there was no sign of stress or bending of the staple itself
