Used it at an airshow and got some great shots

I've been able pull off some very nice shots with this lens, it can be very nice to not switch lenses constantly when you are out and about

some great close up shots of wildlife and "The Falls"

You arent going to get the crystal clear shots of a hawk diving that you see in Natl Geo, but for photographing elk in the valley, or a hawk on a fencepost, it does pretty good

I also got great shots of my granddaughters at 300mm so they never knew I took their pictures.

it doesn't come with a stabilization but you can still get some good shots with it.the reason i didn't like to use

That being said, I have some really nice shots I did with the lens still.

Macro is awesome as well as long shots.

I think I should have practiced more on some "not so important" shots first before relying on it for a special event

When it focuses, it's capable of taking very nice shots, especially for hobbyists like myself (I'm not a pro, just a traveller)

In summary, I recommend the lens if you are shooting in the mid-focal range, but at either end the shots are soft

I got this lens for my Nikon D40 and it takes some good shots and some not so good shots, but that is true for a lot of lenses if you don't have a steady hand.

I was taking pictures of her from the stands just behind first base (perpendicular to 2nd base) all the way over to the stands behind the third base line and got some great shots.

I was able to get a few beautifully crisp shots but not at 70mm

Missed out on a lot of important shots until I bought this lens the macro mode is the best feature to me !

Again I was only able to get beautifully crisp shots at the mid-focal range of the lens

I am able to take long distance wildlife photos (birds in flight) and incredible close-up macro shots

The quality of the output is excellent and using the macro feature for the first time produced some great shots, closeups of waterfowl

Takes fantastic macro shots and wonderful zoom with adequate lighting

And so if I'm shooting toddlers in not the best lighting, I'm missing some shots

I'm able to get beautiful close up shots of birds in nearby trees

and I get some pretty nice shots

Macro shots came out perfect.

I do have some nice shots of birds and landscapes

Photos are crisp and clear however at the end of the focal length of the lens camera needs to be mounted to get clear shots as there is no vibration reduction and shots at

Focal length is about 3 feet but it does allow for some good macro shots

Im loving this lens-I went to a track meet in Greensboro NC to take some pics and got some awesome shots!!!

I have taken some great shots with this

Unfortunately, the lens was so slow to focus that I only got blurry shots

Again, I was able to shoot a few really crisp shots but ran into the same problem when zooming all the way in

I also get great action shots of the dog playing, running, swimming

The auto-focus worked flawlessly, and the focal length (dictated by the fairly large lens) kept me from crowding the insects which actually proved to give me better shots.

You might still need a tripod for some of those tricky shots though

It works well with my Nikon D3200 to produce awesome shots.

And in the beginning, I found that I was able to get some amazing shots

But if you are looking for a lens to take beautiful, clear long range shots, this is great!

A visit to a few zoos and botanical gardens yielded many frame-worthy shots (after a bit of color touch up), but when I tried using this lens to capture some farther, faster subjects (namely military planes during an air show) the slow auto focus was very evident, significantly affecting picture quality and missing key moments

and I no longer miss shots!

Has improved my shots immensely

In only a few weeks I've taken thousands of great shots while camping and hiking.
