I would strongly recommend this lens for anyone seeking a reasonably priced, high quality, medium length telephoto lens.

My advice... just wait until you can get it at a fair market price.

As zooms go this is the best ive used..... quality product for good price

Not a problem if you have in body stabilization, however the price is the same as for the models with stabilization which feels like a bit of a ripoff in comparison.

Since it is big and heavy plan on using a higher shutter speed especially when panning to avoid "shake".The price is very competitive but just be sure you get a US version; a version with the hologram on the top of the box

It's pricing is also spectacular and puts it in reach for many photo enthusiast needing that 600mm range.- Zooming lock is easily accessible and noticeable when locked.- The tripod color and foot is made from metal and helps in balancing the lens on a tripod.- Tripod color can be taken off thus lightening the lens

I haven't given up on it yet though, and will give another copy a try, as being primarily a wildlife and bird photographer, that 600mm range is awesome and at an affordable price point too.
