TaoTronics Bluetooth 4.2 Computer Speaker, Wired/Wireless Computer Sound Bar, Mini Soundbar Speaker for PC/Cellphone/Tablets/Desktop/Laptop, RCA/Aux Connection

    • The passive mode is just about the worst thing you could put on a speaker system
    • : I just purchased a USB Bluetooth for my pc about $10, and after using the Bluetooth instead of AUX cable, the passive mode is not an issue anymore
    • If the speaker doesn't detect sound for .5 of a second, it goes into passive mode
    • However there is a passive mode that turns off the speaker whenever there is silence
    • So, for instance, between songs on an album, it would switch to the passive mode.
    • Has a passive mode so any soft sound the speaker cuts out then back on
    • When you use it with an aux cable for your computer, the LED light blinks green when the speaker is on, but not playing sound (calling that "passive mode" for purposes of this review).
    • When this is plugged in via AUX, it enters a passive mode when not used for even a few seconds
    • I like the sound quality for this price, and if there is a way to fix passive mode, it will be great
    • Device has a "passive mode" where after (quite literally) .2s of quiet or no audio, it shuts off the speakers
    • But seriously, why not make the passive mode at least wait two minutes
    • It will fall into passive mode almost immediately after a signal stops, there is no delay
    • It will stop and drop into passive mode the moment a sentence finishes then pick up again halfway through the next character's sentence
    • When the speaker is actually working it sounds great, unfortunately even while gaming where there is constant noise it will go into passive mode and turn off all sounds
    • Every time there is no sound input, even for a split second, it will go into the passive mode with flashing green light instead of solid green light, and some of the audio will be missed when it tries to turn the sound back on
    • Some other reviews said the passive mode delay disappeared when in Bluetooth mode, but I was looking specifically for an AUX speaker.
    • What made it completely unusable for me was the "passive mode
    • I read the reviews about the passive mode and thought I could deal with it
    • There is a tiny green & blue LED that stays on solid or blinks indicating modes
    • I'm not sure how this wasn't mentioned by other reviewers, but this soundbar has a passive mode when it doesn't detect a sound signal
    • The speaker is nice, the look is very appealing but the problem is, it has a passive mode which it almost immediately goes in to
    • The problem is that the speaker switches very quickly into passive mode when a sound is not playing.
    • The passive mode as mentioned in other reviews is way too sensitive
    • You can also determine the mode through the sound indicators as well
    • However, the reviewer who wrote about the speaker going into "passive mode" is spot on.
    • And taking the advise of the tech, the original sound bar no longer cuts out as frequently (passive mode will turn on if the volume is too low, and I have very sensitive hearing)
    • The passive mode as mentioned in other reviews is way too sensitive
