The microphones in the front are great, but I bought this to be used as a portable recorder with a microphone attached to the XLR inputs and they're a joke

With a dynamic microphone attached, you pick up almost as much hiss from the internal preamps as you do actual signal by the time you get the input level high enough to actually capture decent audio
