Clean gain, clean outputs, a great unit

The interface itself is pretty good -- clean(ish) gain and intuitive design

I don't have super high end mics to explain the minute details about the pre amps, but they do sound pretty average to my ears, no real addition or loss, just kinda boosts the gain like a transparent preamp should

Don't even think about plugging a low output mic like the Shure SM7B or various ribbon mics into one of these without a Cloudlifter or FetHead though, as there's no way this little TASCAM unit can supply enough clean gain for all but the screamer style vocalists

The 57db gain is perfect for my dynamic vocal mic

The headphone amp sounds fine and has enough gain to drive my old Sennheiser HD580 headphones

You have level control on all four front panel inputs, as well as on the headphone outputs and two of the line outputs.
