However, I wanted to try out this TASCAM because of the Ultra-HDDA mic preamps, as well as the multiple inputs along with phantom power and a USB connection all in one package

And because it does all of its audio processing internally it will far exceed the existing audio inputs on your computer or tablet

I bought this mainly because I needed an interface with enough inputs to record my drumset, as well as guitar on occasion

The only issue I had was one microphone input into the unit was triggering an overload indicator (on the loudest drum strikes) in the DAW software even with the physical gain pot turned all the way down

The available input and output ports are as advertised, and the monitoring function off of the hardware front of the AMP works very well.

In these software applications, I was able to verify that the problem wasn't hardware installation, but likely my lack of understanding the proper settings and input selections to capture my audio files

I might as well find something with enough inputs to accommodate any situation

It has enough inputs that you can set up everything you need and never have to worry about switching out cables

All inputs are working.
