I haven't the foggiest clue as to how well this works in a car -- I have a magnetic vent mount for that -- but using the same metal pads in my phone case, this works great for a desk

I have an iPhone 5s which it works great with, but I also have an Alcatel Idol 3 which has a 5.5 size screen, which this mount doesn't hold very well since the phone is actually longer than the mount

If you have a heavy phone though (mine is an iPhone 7 Plus) the mount can still fall if you hit some bad turbulence, but I don’t fault the mount for that.

I have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler and needed a sturdy phone mount especially on days that I take the top and doors off the vehicle

The mount is minimal (which I like) but the adjustment on the back of the magnet mount is weak plastic prone to stripping the tightening thread and the magnet is not very strong for how big it looks.

The rubber cover that lies on top of the magnet (and is what comes in contact with a phone when mounted) has become loose on my mount over the course of the past year that I've had it, and as a result the spinning problem that I just described is even worse now that the rubber can also rotate too

Love the mount but not an everyday use mount.

I'd recommend this to anyone - it's hands down the easiest mount I've ever seen, and everyone who drives with me ends up buying their own.

If fact, I like these so much, that I ordered two more, to replace the stupid window suction-cup mounts that came with our Garmin GPSs and that ALWAYS fall off in the hot sun or on bumpy roads

This is, by far, the best car phone mount I've ever used.

My other mount was $20 and broke pretty easily

After scraping off all of the residue the mount is no longer usable

Six months later the mount has all but lost all of its magnetic hold.

The reason I gave this product four stars instead of five is because the suction cup is so sticky, its not a mount you can take car to car or even really move around

Looked to be a good design, but after only 45 days of very light use, the mount exploded (phone was not attached at the time) while driving on a busy highway, onto the drivers side of the car.

I was growing tired of the cheap plastic clamp-style mounts that never seemed to last more than a year, due to all plastic parts and the nature of hot/cold cycles in a vehicle in my climate

The mount on this product looks like a suction cup but really has an adhesive pad that makes it very difficult to remove and will stop working very well after being moved a few times.

Almost a 2 star, I got beginning of fall semester (September), needed quick cheap but hopefully sturdy mount, and at this time lasted until completely falling apart right before thanksgiving, the only thing that’s high quality is the suction I guess, stupendously sticky, but riding with with bumps my iPhone SE is(I guess too heavy) easily moved when on the best of roads

but the magnetic mount is a lifesaver

Magnetic enough to hold phone firmly but not so much that you rip the mount off the glass when grabbing your phone.
