Well, after 1.5 years of moderate use, the record head seems to have quit on me.

Although nothing from cassette will sound as good as a CD, I have found that a recording made on high quality tape with Dolby-C noise reduction comes pretty darn close and often sounds better than compressed audio (like MP3 and AAC).
