Bottom line: this thing works as advertised, charges each battery independently, and keeps each cell on a trickle charge compatible with the requirements of NiMH batteries (no trivial accomplishment.

All other NiMH cells worked great and were even restored to function when other chargers would not service them or were indicating failed cells.

Batteries get a bit hot but it seems to be working just fine

It's not the fastest charger but it does work well and keeps the batteries topped off nicely.

The digital display is very bright (blue), but easy to read

The display and dicharge feature are nice to have although not needed for this type of battery

The TN160 has a very nice back-lit display for each battery

The Display is easy to understand at a glance and takes any guesswork out of telling what the battery is doing and if it's done.

when I first turned it on the led panel the blue backlit was really bright my home looks like Christmas decorations with all the little lights of the many devices so i got upset when I saw the lights however once the batteries are charged the backlight goes off to a dark display

This item on the other hand is constantly giving charge errors.

This is a technically remarkable item, but with a few slight annoyances

It has a high pitched whine noise to it when charging, it gets louder the more batteries you have charging

I like that I can charge many cells at once, but as others have mentioned it does make a small whining noise while charging

Like, if you leave this in a room charging some batteries and go outside at night, people will walk by and wonder why you have a blue room

I have learned through experience that fast charging kills batteries

It does emit a high pitched noise while charging but it's not a big deal

The pros: the bright blue-lit readout screen shows when a battery is fully charged; you can use any number combination (up to 12) of AA

Charger worked three times only, now the screen is totally blue and doesn’t work at all

I'm not so sure the "smart lcd display screen" is all that accurate either

LED screen is bright in the dark and is very easy to read

As for the bright blue light: after about five months, the blue light died.

i have mine in a closet and use it as a intense night light

Although the blue light originally was perhaps a bit bright, I would preferred that it stayed that way since its new dimness may presage an impending failure

There are *no* mounting slots on the underside, so the unit must be placed on a flat surface, and in a location where the excessive bright light will not disturb the user.

But if you keep it in the kitchen it will be a great night light.

I was insured upon calling Tenergy about my defective unit, that Tenergy would send me an email with a RGA Number

I like the unit because it can do an automatic full discharge/refresh/charge.

this unit works well but arrived with the power cord cut.

First unit did not work but Seller replaced it in a timely manner

I tested Energizer NIMH batteries work into Tenergy TN160 LCD Battery Charger that work.

It also rejected bad batteries by not showing them as charging.

Been happy with the batteries of this brand and this charger works as it should

Or is the charger over charging, under charging, or otherwise ruining good batteries?
