    Terk Indoor AM Antenna ADVANTAGE

    • I put the antenna next to the radio with a perpendicular orientation, tuned the dial on the antenna for the best results, and moved the antenna around slightly to further optimize the signal
    • when i plugged it as a traditional antenna my results were worse
    • Perhaps one of the other reviewers received a defective antenna - although I can see where one would be disappointed if they just plugged the antenna in and were expecting amazing results (which may be the case for that person).
    • I read about the Terk in Monitoring Times magazine and decided it was worth a try, although I really didn't expect stellar results; I figured that better AM reception was worth a try since almost everything I listen to is on the AM Band.
    • a distant - well then you have to do BOTH tuning step for satisfactory results.
    • I got the best results with very weak stations by first setting the antenna to the frequency (say, 560 KHz.
    • This deserves more than 5 stars i tried this with my modern and vintage radios really gorgeous result..
    • direction*.I've never had good results with direct connections, but the loop coupling default method
    • Some nights I don't receive anything at all but usually I get good to excellent results
    • Now, you do have to play with it: location, orientation, then tuning it, but the results are well worth it
    • This device clearly works but does not necessarily produce miraculous results.
    • Tips:-use during the day-works best with "average" home radios, not for car or high quality radios-for best results: a) it must be turned by hand to face the station transmitter, and b) it must be tuned by hand to the same dial position as the shown on this radioSo this means, you must tune twice for best results
    • You will need to experiment a little with placement and orientation of both the radio and AM-1000 to get good results
    • You can point it in different directions, but close or up to the body of the radio and get very good results
    • I also have a stereo receiver which has no internal AM antenna and got good results using the wired
    • Also, you must tune the antenna close enough to the station frequency you wish to listen to (easy, it just has to be close enough), and then you may also need to turn the antenna for best results
    • My home stereo still needs experimenting with, I heard some people had good results using the factory loop placed near the Terk loop antenna
    • For those who are having trouble with it, you may want to rotate the radio and/or this antenna for best results.
    • You do have to tune the antenna to the station that you want for best results.
    • In the cases of my costly ICOM R71a AM/shortwave receiver [with no internal AM antenna], Carver TX-11b with "hi-fi" audio-bandwidth AM stereo, and Denon TU-660 designed for quality AM audio - the results were satisfactory; yet connection to my Sony home theater receiver yielded less-impressive results - the provided Sony loop antenna in some cases worked better!
    • today i received my Terk AM antenna and hurriedly hooked it up and the results are very good.
    • but I was really hoping for better results.
