The material is a thick smooth rubber/silicone (which I didn't realize upon ordering, but now I'm glad that it is that material) and thus it has some flex/give to it, which is great, it will hold up longer than if it was hard plastic.

The surface of the anchor there is pretty smooth plastic, and merely sticking the 3M pad doesn't seem to securely keep it on when it is put under weight.
