This item was a total waste of money.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO:If someone steals your bike that has a Tile superglued to the rack, it will tell you the last place your phone and your Tile were in the same place (the place where you locked your bike up) NOT the place where your bike was taken to unless you get within 100 feet of the stolen item (you would have to be on the thieves porch or perhaps even in their garage before the app would find it)WHAT

Essentially every time you use the device the "tile team" sends a message congratulating itself for finding the lost item

This product is perfect if you constantly misplace important items

and I haven't lost my items.

Because, as with car accidents (most of which happen close to home), most "lost" items are misplaced at home

Someone who also uses the tile product with a tile app has to be within range of your missing item for it to update you as to its location.

Being able to ring the lost item helps a lot

A really interesting feature should you ever have the misfortune of losing the item outside of Bluetooth range or the item is stolen, is that in future as more people join the tile network, if you mark the tile lost it can be located by other tile users as they come into proximity with their device

Also, item is perfect for gifting

As long as you have your iPhone you will not lose those important items such as keys, wallets, cases

Until one company clearly dominates this market and everyone buys in (or until at least a couple of the various tracking companies decide to team up to pool their tracking information and become a market force) this feature is not really useful (unless perhaps you loose your item in lower Manhattan where there are 1) a lot of people already using the app in 2) a dense area

I like that if your item is well out of range, anyone with the app can respond that your TILE is in their range

If the lost item is on your property but out of hearing range the Tile system is of little help.

So in essence, it does help you not lose your item, but not via the way it's intended

I assume the battery is depleted and in these units they cannot be changed..... item now a small plastic paper weight

I subsequently bought two more for other important items

Eventually I found the keys myself in the laundry bin, but the experience showed that unless your missing item is sitting on a hard surface, you won't be able to hear the quiet little tune tile plays when it's been found.the worst part is that, because I thought this was going to be an answered prayer, I ordered the 4 pack and know I have $79 worth of useless chips.

So theoretically, if these get incredibly popular, then chances are some other user may well get within 100 feet of a stolen item and you could get notified where your missing item is

so I can safely say I have saved hours of frustration by not losing a single important item that has been connected to Tile

Great way to find lost items

Small price to pay for security of your important items.

Great for locating keys, wallets & miscellaneous items.

We use it to find our 94 year old mother's purse & other important items that she hides then believes are stolen because of dementia

Cool item, works great with wifi but has trouble if there's no wifi.

If you're not very close by it won't find the lost item, and half the time you can't even hear the alarm

The community also is great through networking to help find lost item

The two problems are sometimes the app either turns off or something so you could loose your item and not know where it was last left and keeping the bluetooth on all the time is a drain on any phone, especially my LG G3.

Great invention for those that run around looking for missed place items.

When an item is marked as lost, the program uses other tile users phones to search for the tile.

a small detail tile does not tell its buyers when tracking a lost item using this product.

Awesome thing for people who lose their personal item.

The APP does little to help you determine where it is exactly located, but if you get close enough to the lost item, you can listen closely and hear it barely beep

This is a fantastic device that makes finding lost items easy

It will help once you lost your item, because you will know when you're close because the phone and the tile will connect and you can activate the sound.

I thought I would get an audible sound so that I could locate the lost item.

Again, HORRIBLE DESIGN #2.If you want these TILES for your own item tracking, as we also desired for keys and purses, it does help to locate a miss placed item from the "last seen" map.

My husband would loose his head if it wasn't attached, so he obviously needed an item that would find his keys, something he looses every single day.
