I started by deleting the US maps so that I would have adequate memory to load the European maps.

after I purchased it I found that I would have to purchase the international maps for $80 plus I would have to delete the US maps since there was not enough memory for both.

That TomTom sells a product with free updates but doesn't tell you that they are selling you a product with insufficient memory is a reprehensible form of corporate deceit

I did receive the package real quick, the problem I have so far is there was not enough memory in the GPS when I tried update Europe and North American maps, It limited me to updating Europe's and Eastern North American maps only.

In the end I found that I could keep all on if I limited the Europe maps set to northern Europe, which was all I wanted really, but I still feel that the device should have enough memory to allow it to carry the maps it is sold with plus future updates, especially as memory is so cheap these days.

Updating was a little tricky since the updates were larger than the original maps and there wasn't enough memory to do all of them.

However, I'm concerned that the existing software seems to be using a very high proportion of the available memory, yet there seems to be no slot for a supplementary memory card.

The 1505M is much faster, lighter, locks on to the satellite much more quickly and is more compact since the mount is now built in.

The 1505M is really a bargain (at Amazon's price) especially with the lifetime maps

and I can say that the 1505M is superb.
