TomTom Incorporated 1EN5.019.13 TomTom VIA 1505M World Traveler Edition 5-Inch Portable Touchscreen Car GPS Navigation Device - Lifetime US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe Maps

    • In addition, to update the US maps, the device does not even have enough memory just as another reviewer had mentioned
    • My only gripe is that they load this with full maps for NA and Europe, but when you do the first update there is not enough memory to keep both
    • I may have to delete those maps, as other reviewers have found that there is not enough memory to do future updates
    • Seems like there is just enough memory on this thing to hold those maps.
    • It gets even worse because I can NOT even update the USA map because there is not enough memory in the unit
    • Except there isn't enough memory on the unit to hold both the current US and Europe maps, which is why they installed the old ones, I assume
    • I started by deleting the US maps so that I would have adequate memory to load the European maps.
    • after I purchased it I found that I would have to purchase the international maps for $80 plus I would have to delete the US maps since there was not enough memory for both.
    • That TomTom sells a product with free updates but doesn't tell you that they are selling you a product with insufficient memory is a reprehensible form of corporate deceit
    • But the unit don't have enough memory to keep both maps (that is the reason I think all new unit will only pre-install with US map
    • Lack of adequate memory is the first problem with this unit
    • it's enough memory to download all of Europe (only zones), but you can buy a memory chip.
    • Why didn't TomTom know there was insufficient memory?)
    • I did receive the package real quick, the problem I have so far is there was not enough memory in the GPS when I tried update Europe and North American maps, It limited me to updating Europe's and Eastern North American maps only.
    • In the end I found that I could keep all on if I limited the Europe maps set to northern Europe, which was all I wanted really, but I still feel that the device should have enough memory to allow it to carry the maps it is sold with plus future updates, especially as memory is so cheap these days.
    • Not enough memory for updates!
    • Doesn't have enough internal memory for even the initial update.
    • Updating was a little tricky since the updates were larger than the original maps and there wasn't enough memory to do all of them.
    • However, I'm concerned that the existing software seems to be using a very high proportion of the available memory, yet there seems to be no slot for a supplementary memory card.

    • (wish there was an expandable memory slot like SD card).- Suction cup has a strange mounting mechanism
    • I bought this GPS only because of the claim that it has sufficient memory to hold the maps of Europe and the Americas
    • The 1505M is much faster, lighter, locks on to the satellite much more quickly and is more compact since the mount is now built in.
    • The 1505M is really a bargain (at Amazon's price) especially with the lifetime maps
    • and I can say that the 1505M is superb.
    • e browser and it worked fine.
