I worry about not using the cords shipped with a product, especially with hard drives because with one misstep you can risk losing everything

If I get any help from them after this I will leave an update, but based on other (I now know ACCURATE) reviews, my expectations for service are lower than the quality of this hard drive.

When you disassemble a Seagate portable drive, what you see inside is a Samsung brand regular laptop drive connected to a board that provides the USB port; you just slide the drive from the board and you end up with a regular laptop drive

Both Canvios come preloaded with a program to backup and sync your files, but if you used this, Toshiba recommends that you do not set-up the password feature, as any glitch in either the computer or hard drive will prevent the password sign in from coming up, and there is no back door recovery.

I use NTFS on my Mac and the Toshiba hard drive can connect with my computer at first.

It did take about 8 hours the first time (on my previous hard drive, I think it took 14 hours the first time, so this was an improvement)
