There's a happy ending to this story though, as I've returned this and bought a Seagate Momentus at Best Buy, and that thing is now working like a charm.

This thing works great, i got it for my fat ps3 and just installed it last night, its a luxury to have this much room and not have to worry about deleteing stuff

Going from 250gb to 1tb is the best thing going!

I rank Toshiba 2.5" drives higher than Western Digital(just had a 160gb die last week, good thing I backed it up), higher than Seagate(any series), and higher than other brands I've experienced
