Purchased this product in June 2016, worked well for about 5-6 months, then started with spotty/iffy wi-fi (either slow, or would simply begin dropping connections).

From what I saw, it looked like a nice product, it was well made, the menus were easy to use and understand

Product did not work placed as close as possible to router with only one wall in between and it could not detect the signal

So again. if you're an average person that doesn't keep ALL receipts filed for years do NOT buy this product or anything else from TP-Link as they will NOT honor the warrantee.

Out of the box, this seems like a good product, but if you search the internet, you will find that the 5G signal on this often cuts out and the unit needs a hard reboot to restore it.

I am revising the title of this review to reflect that, but not increasing the stars given because the customer should not have to spend time and ultimately replace the firmware to get a stable product

However, after reading countless internet forums it seems that this product may be plagued by hardware issues (improper shielding, etx?)

Product has a serious flaw as the port forwarding cannot forward port 80, the most common port you’re likely going to want to forward

I've been on the phone with TP-Link a couple of times trying to troubleshoot; they finally told me the product was defective and would send a new one, but first I had to register the old one.

I bought this to replace my twelve year old cheap-o Cisco router because with four people and about a dozen devices in our home, I hoped a new router would speed things up.

Went back to my old reliable D-Link router for now.

I bought this router back in November 2015 and I t was phenomenal.
