After reading the review on The Wirecutter website, I decided to give the TP-Link Archer C7 a try to see if I could improve my coverage and speed

I upgraded from a less expensive TP Link router and I have noticed that I can use my wireless devices further away from the router with more reliable connection and higher speeds.

Since then I have had multiple episodes of lost internet connectivity and also times of very slow speeds (< 5 mbps, normally 35-45 wireless and 65-70 wired).

I was on the need of a new router with strong signal, i found a lot of positive feedback on the TpLink signal strength, well... the unit worked fine for 4-5 months and problems started, first the speed will drop from 20mbps to 1mbps randomly, and i mean RANDOM

The product specs and reviews would make me think that this could provide great 5ghz coverable throughout my house if placed centrally but the speed tests I ran show that speed drops off like a black diamond ski slope as soon as you get about 10 feet away from the unit

After about 3 months the router started slowing the internet speed down from 200mbps to ~40mbps on both bands.

The TP-Link C7 worked before with the lower 25 mbps broadband feed, but after the increase it kept giving degraded wireless speeds after working for about a day or less
