    TP-Link AC3150 Wireless Wi-Fi Router - High Performance Wave 2 Wi-Fi 4K Streaming Gaming (Archer C3150 V2)

    • This unit has other nice features due to the app, and of course, if we bought a bigger house we could add a couple of the smaller round Google routers to this and set up an even stronger wifi network.
    • You get monitoring, you can make certain devices the priority for a certain time span, among other cool little features that for other routers require you to log into an ugly outdated web interface through your web browser by typing an IP address
    • A really nice feature on the app is the ability to prioritize a device for 1, 2, or 4 hours to dedicate more bandwidth to a device that need it, such as device that is streaming HD video
    • I like the automatic features as it always routes traffic and is constantly optimizing channel traffic, however, the automatic features are also the downfall in my application.
    • The current V2 production model (V1 is out of production) has very dumbed down Firmware that lacks many features and capability
    • Useless future-features
    • programAC3150 v2 gets better than its predecessor with a few things but in general brings all the good features of the Archer line of router products.1
    • Another feature I love is that the Google OnHub app works even if you aren't connected to the router
    • The software to control the OnHub had some good features but also was limited in other capabilities
    • Multiple channels was an excellent feature!
    • I'm excited to see what additional functionality Google (hopefully more smart home features) will add to the router and would recommend it to anyone.
    • The only feature I would like is for the app to differentiate between devices in front of the bridge, and devices behind the bridge.
    • Although there are some cool features for guest and family (like a timer when there will be no internet for kids).
    • Great speed, great distance, nice feature set
    • The reason I penalize this router for lacking this feature is that my previous two routers (which were ASUS) did support this feature and I had just assumed it would be there - didn't realize it was not a given and would have purchased a different
    • My favorite feature of OnHub's function is the easy ability to prioritize a specific device for a certain amount of time
    • It may be missing some ports and useful features of other routers, but it makes up for it with ease of use, a handy bridge mode, and the promise of future updates.(Edit: (8/27/16
    • Overall, it is a very capable router that, while still not inexpensive, provides robust features that competes well in this space.
    • It does lack more advanced features that you would find in a router that supports DDWRT, for example, so if you're looking for something similar this isn't the router for you.
    • Other routers understand that they are to move 172.16.43.105 to 172.16.42.105 for example, but this one doesn't support that critical feature
    • Easy to set up and great features like being able to slow one or all users down
    • This unit has great signal, it's easy to get going, I really appreciate the wall mount features - and they've built in a great little feature that dims/kills the external LED lights at a set
    • and cool features on the app!!.
    • A few other great features are: -Tri-band support: Segment your most important devices onto separate wireless bands for optimum performance -MU-
    • It also has a smart connect feature which would automatically choose the optimal band / channel for a particularly device
    • Other great features include separate guest network access, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports for external storage/printer devices, a powerful 1.4GHz dual-core CPU and 3 co-processors, and the new “Smart Connect” feature which helps devices run faster by intelligently assigning them to the best available connection (very useful since there are now 3 bands to choose from).Bottom line
    • And now this router is gaining major features.
    • Although I think that it's an awesome feature, it is very limiting for something like a usb port on a router, most notable for me is the missing of NAS functionality
    • I love the antivirus feature, it blocked one of my iOS devices safari browser from opening a known bad link, with kids, this feature is great
    • Another great feature is that the app alerts you when it loses connectivity.
    • The router also has nice small features to setup file shares with USB devices plugged into it
    • It's best feature
    • Works excellent, great features, including the firewall, pair that up with ESET internet security w/
    • Feature rich, stylish, great wifi coverage, and managed via smartphone app.
    • The Google Wifi app is great as well and has enough features for my usage
    • The Smart Connect feature which supports one SSID name for all bands was not reliable.
    • Also love the app feature
    • One of the best features I was so excited about was the ability tomake schedules for kids’ devices
    • You have some cool features that will test internet to the WAP, and WAP to your phone
    • The connection to the router and the ability to see my network remotely on my phone when away from home is a nice feature.
    • Time Warner Cable, love the guest feature
    • I later found out that Netgear did not support WOL features, nor the ability to edit ARP tables and does not give the consumer the option to enable those settings
    • I also enabled the “Smart Connect” feature, which allows the router to decide the best network for any connected devices to gain access to
    • One of the best features is great U.S. agent phone tech support always available direct from Google
    • That is a neat feature, it just takes a few minutes to get the hang of it
    • Hopefully, they keep updating it with better features and a better interface
    • The AC3150 also includes a full set of modern advance features ( you can easily see what they are here on Amazon so I won’t bother to repeat it here ), however, it’s not enterprise grade so don’t expect for example, to be able to set up sophisticated firewall rules
    • Overall, it is a very capable router that, while still not inexpensive, provides robust features that competes well in this space.
    • It may be missing some ports and useful features of other routers, but it makes up for it with ease of use, a handy bridge mode, and the promise of future updates.(Edit: (8/27/16
    • Setup was a breeze, and I enjoy the management features of the OnHub App
    • And, as we all know, there are not only feature improvements in Android apps but also permissions creep, as app updates are rolled out
    • stars!- Loss of features compared to older devices.
    • No access point mode - for such an expensive router, this feature should be available, without having to try work around it.2
    • One of the best features is the mobile app used to manage it
    • OnHub's easy remote management features (you can manage it from anywhere, not just from the house) let you troubleshoot from a distance
    • It's as simple as my Apple router was, but with many great features in the App
    • A Smart Connect feature automatically assigns each device to the best available band to achieve optimal performance
    • The OnHub has other good features that give it a lot of potential.
    • App has cool parental features (like pausing a selected group of devices) that are nice, but I don't really
    • Don't forget that some of the cool features like setting up your own VPN, authenticated HTTP/FTP access of local drive over the internet and parental controls are all still
    • As new features and MU-MIMO updates are available, we will need to update the equipment with new firmware.
    • As it is now, I just don't see where this has enough "new" features to justify the price
    • I was initially considering buying another Asus because of the AiCloud feature where I can access my files from anywhere, but the TP-Link has almost the same feature via FTP and it works very well also, so no worries there if this is also on your list of concerns
    • The software is indeed very user friend but lacking many features commonly found on other wireless routers in this price range (e.g. guest network(s), USB, DDNS, VPN, etc).
    • Let me start off by saying I actually like Google as a company, some of their online services (Mail, Maps) are absolutely fantastic and at least for me the convenience of those services outweighs the privacy concerns inherent in any ad-supported business model (read - tracking our customers and serving them ads).I cannot say the same about this over-priced router wherein the potential privacy issues severely outweigh any gimmicky features it brings to the table
    • This router has great features, but the DHCP server stop assigning IP addresses after about 24 hours runtime, you can also not logon to the router anymore
    • Extremely simple set up, gives you some great options for parental control and allows some neat features for guest set up
    • There is a very handy parental control feature that allows you to limit access to websites for specific devices on the network, so you can put “google” or “youtube" on your blacklist, and any URL with that phrase in it will not load on your kid’s iPhone
    • MAX traffic (pending on ISP bandwidth plan.- High security with built-in software to control who gets to see, and most importantly not see your network- Great app features: let's you turn on/off devices and allocate
    • I like the performance and features, the lack of ports is the only downside for me
    • Best home use router with robust features such as IPS, VPN, and SNMP.
    • Still, even advanced features are easy to find and easy to use.(+) Design
    • The app I'd also very simple to use and has good features.
    • the router had NO issues, I would have given this a 5 star rating because it really is an advanced and fantastic product with rich features and future-forward tech.
    • The best feature is actually the Google On app for controlling the router
    • Other nifty features for the average user include the USB application for connecting external drivers (such as an external 3.0 drive) and parental controls that can control access for individual devices, and then restrict them from going to (or only going to) specific websites or turning the devices off completely at given times
    • Smart Connect feature has worked pretty well for me so far, I have quite a few wifi devices (3 Google Minis, 2 Chromecast Audios, 1 chromecast
    • Add bonuses such as an onboard OpenVPN Server, FTP Server and, of course, Broadcom’s Smart Connect channel balancing feature and you have a comprehensive package of features, beautifully presented
    • Other nifty features for the average user include the USB application for connecting external drivers (such as an external 3.0 drive) and parental controls that can control access for individual devices, and then restrict them from going to (or only going to) specific websites or turning the devices off completely at given times
    • At first it was missing features that I thought it was to have, but with the recent update of the software, all those features are there
    • The fact that it comes with a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 is also a great feature because sometimes USB 3.0 just doesn't play nice and having a USB 2.0 port is always a better combination than 2 x USB 3.0 (IMHO).The cons:-Honestly, I would be hard pressed to find one
    • It knows if you've connected to a modem with router capabilities -- even if these features are disabled
    • The smartphone app provides some really useful features such as blocking internet access from certain devices (good for families), viewing upload/download activity per device, and easily setting up guest networks
    • It needs better traffic shaping features, a smarter brain to better manage band switching and overall consistency
    • a lot of important features (ahem port forwarding)Bad range.
    • The user interface is not as feature rich as the Asus routers ive favoured recently, but Im finding that more and more, we are being forced to use ISP supplied routers anyway, days of being able to get the modem from isp coupled with your own router are diaspparing as tv/telephone services get bundled by the same service provider and hence smart features like QoS, DDNS etc on 3rd party routers dont actually add much value
    • Smart Connect seemed to do a good job when devices first connected, but as the device was moved around, the feature failed to live up to its promise of seamlessly switching bands as needed.
    • Other features that are impressive that work well (or at least seem to work
    • Great features including a guest network capability.
    • Ability to monitor via app is a great feature.
    • Lots of great features and was a really easy setup process
    • The whole one ssid for 2.4/5ghz is a neat feature which definetly helps in that
    • This rendered the Smart Connect feature useless
    • The router provides an excellent feature to turn the unit on or off via a button, and a WPS reset to start over if needed
    • I wanted something that was going to give me a little more directional boost in wifi throughout my house as well as give me better security than many of the basic routers out there
    • As typical with devices like these, I upgrade the firmware to make sure I have the latest features, it is running as good as it can, etc
    • Not as fast as I'd
    • I went from a single band to this triple band as well as from a 10Mbit to 100Mbit service
    • no more need to screw in the antennas and I love it.-The router is also fairly light and not as massive as my Asus, so i love this as
    • I now have service on the third floor as well as in the garage on the first floor all with this single router
    • Good wifie connection is on all 3 inside levels of my house as well as in my back yard and front yard
    • and you will have a new appreciation for how broken an
    • n’t look nearly as much like a spaceship as other routers in its class
