    TP-Link AC5400 Wireless Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (Archer C5400)

    • As a router this thing worked just fine
    • One strange thing though
    • One of the best things about it is the ability to set a schedule for router on and off times.
    • Some of the ASUS features just slowed things down
    • That's not a good thing when you have teenagers playing games & watching videos.
    • Also, absolutely no excuse for one LAN port!Google, the next device needs two things at least:1
    • Sorry TP Link, this thing needs some work before ready for primetime in my opinion
    • Perhaps not the worst thing in the world, but it was a pretty annoying
    • One very important thing to me is VPN support
    • I like the idea in spirit, but in practice, the world (particularly the home networking world) is complex and you need to support a few more things before I will recommend this product to anyone.
    • While things like setup, physical design, and range are quite good, an owners option to set internal network settings are very limited.
    • This should have been a good thing considering we couldn't understand each other on the phone, but the problem is
    • That is the only annoying thing about this product otherwise works well.
    • , there are a lot of more better things than this
    • This thing is great so far
    • The thing is a pain to configure, because the app is so buggy
    • and now I've got a router that so clever it won't even let me give it direction when it gets things wrong
    • These pages are designed for power users who want to do things like disallowing certain MAC addresses
    • Let me know when you support the things I've mentioned
    • Might switch to a nicer looking mesh network in the future but for now, this ugly thing keeps the video/music streaming going throughout the house and into the back yard.
    • This thing is slow
    • Really wanted to like this thing
    • When a hi-tech company provides unreliable technical supports, it is not a good thing.
    • A cool thing - it has parental controls
    • Another very important thing to me is QoS. With two kids (3 and 6 years old), we must have 25 devices accessing the Internet at my house
    • Love this thing, pumps out my wifi
    • This thing is amazing and gives the best throughput and wifi signal imaginable
    • This thing just works
    • Love this thing
    • Anyone who says this is not the best thing to happen to their home network then they are doing something wrong.
    • This thing is great
    • I love this thing
    • This thing was great and set up easy once I figured out how to take the outside cover off!THANKS!
    • This is the best thing I've ever bought for my tiny techie apartment
    • I am hoping that this thing keeps working and does not make me run out of patience with it.
    • That thing was sucking up all the bandwidth and other devices could not connect when it was in use.
    • Best thing since Apple pie
    • thing actually looks nice, and it came with some cable management ties.
    • That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, and I'm not the only one complaining about these sorts of issues on the TP-Link forums
    • My printer is the most important thing in our home
    • I would hope that as the unit's software and its corresponding app continue to evolve, there could be a bit more information available when things aren't quite working... perhaps via its bluetooth connection when that is eventually enabled
    • Average people who just want to surf and stream video will love this thing.
    • Hey this thing works
    • The only good thing about this router is if you are looking to add an additional router in your house, not as bridge, but just a second router.
    • The single most annoying thing is the app based interface, its great if things are working, its pure frustration if you have network issues.
    • This thing is half the cost of the other fiasco I had, and works 10x better
    • This thing is amazing!!
    • : Let your friends access the Internet without having access to your complete network, protect your devices!A few things that I’ve noticed that could use some improvement: -Traffic Statistics: These are disabled out of the box, and can not be enabled unless you disable something called “NAT Boost”
    • This thing is wonderful
    • I truly believe that google want us to buy this thing despite its apparent unfinished status to secure R&D funds for it
    • This thing is awesome
    • One scary thing, the official support support site on Google is not very active at all.
    • That is the only annoying thing about this product otherwise works well.
    • This has been the best thing ever for my family
    • this thing isn't worth what I paid for it
    • You don't have the ability to make adjustments to certain things and some things are just confusing
    • The best thing is guest mode
    • This thing is terrible I had much better results from free router from my service provider
    • Sold in blue or black enclosures, the thing is gorgeous, and it feels as solid as it looks
    • Did that, and it seemed to improve things but after a
    • This thing is crazy easy to setup.
    • I thought problems like such were a thing of the past.
    • Now, for the setup, this 802.11ac device is designed to do most of the dirty setup work by itself, out of sight and out of mind because most of us have better things to do
    • I have no cell service and my old router died, so this thing was a complete waste of time
    • This thing just works
    • This thing is great!
    • Honestly the most difficult thing about the whole process was getting it plugged in
    • The thing is beautiful, but most of all it is the best performing router I have ever owned
    • I LOVE THIS THING
    • This thing is ugly.
    • The single most annoying thing is the app based interface, its great if things are working, its pure frustration if you have network issues.
    • Kind of disappointed that 180$ router would turn out to be the most unreliable thing.
    • After setup (which is super easy) the thing immediately made everything so much faster
    • It takes some navigating to understand all of the features this thing is capable of
    • The only thing I dislike about it is the lack of more than 1 LAN port
    • The thing looks nice too (a little bigger than I expected), but the nice teal glowing ring gives it a very modern, decorative look
    • In the status page the 2.4 band was showing as active (even though it was not showing up for any device to connect to) and the weird thing was that there is a notice in the status page stating the 5Ghz
    • The single most annoying thing is the app based interface, its great if things are working, its pure frustration if you have network issues.
    • The only bad thing that happened was updating the
    • This router is the perfect router for me, I have all of my gadgets on it, my son and my daughter and wife have their things connected as well and not one hick up
    • Another cool thing i notice is with my Chromecast all i had to do was search for the router with the Chromecast home app and it connected itself because it recognised that i was searching from my already connected handheld
    • I've had my issues with this thing since I've had it, but this thing currently is running like a champ
    • This thing just simply works
    • This thing is awesome
    • We absolutely love this thing, and we will end up buying the recommended extenders down the road.
    • Eventually the router started working properly again, but around the 6 or 7 month mark this thing started to either take forever to finally start working or it would work but disconnect every device in my home
    • This thing is great.
    • Oddly enough even when the damn thing is connected to the internet, the app still tells me its not, and nothing works.
    • this thing is fast!I had built a new htpc and wanted no lag between the htpc and the "streamer" pc in the bedroom or my office
    • This thing is crazy easy to setup.
    • n’t look nearly as much like a spaceship as other routers in its class
    • The bad - I've been wanting to assign static IP's to a couple of devices that are hardwired via a switch I have connected, but when looking at the network and trying to find which Mac address is assigned to what device, the current UI refreshes the list every time you look at a device then go back
    • The N was pretty snappy at 100Mbps in the kitchen
    • I don't see why ppl will want this C5400 if it doesn't have more features than the competition or equal too in options, the firmware does have its limitations also for the class this router is in also, many other routers in this class have alot more features (bandwidth speed, deep packet inspection, faster USB transfer speed on router ports, 3G/4G USB Dongle and Cloud Managing, just to name a few)
    • Because of the forced shared SSID on both bands, I have connectivity issues on the limits of the range of the 5G band where my devices refuse to switch to 2.4G band
    • (Let's say 50 feet from the router) the signal strength (Even 2G) become pretty weak but is still able to support a wireless connection at about 30Mpbs which is certainly fast enough for most.
    • Even the 2.4G was faster than 5G with MIMO
    • I highly recommend this router if you want very good range and a consistent 5G connection
    • Great 2.4G wireless speed compared to my other name brand AC router
