TP-Link SafeStream TL-R600VPN Gigabit Broadband Desktop VPN Router, 120M NAT throughput, 10k Concurrent Sessions, 256 DHCP Clients, 20 VPN Tunnels

    • I need a VPN but do not think it would be smart to add complexity while the device is unstable and unreliable
    • Good basic device, works as it should, great price
    • The good stuff: (1) Nice construction and made of metal; (2) the UI is way better than many competitive devices -- help on the right side of the config pages, for exampleBut there are some issues: (1)
    • Even the old DLINK was able to auto-detect available devices.
    • Worked perfectly out of the box - this was the device I needed in order to hardwire TWO wireless routers to my Comcast cable modem.
    • Specifically adding MAC filtering and static IP's was tedious because the router gave no ability to auto-detect available devices and select them for addition to the lists.
    • If you don't know what any of those are, or what you'd use them for, then there are much cheaper switches available here, and this device is very likely overkill for your needs.
    • Great device
    • Then a different device will have issues
    • Great little device, lots of options - especially for the price.
    • But great home management device for now.
    • Mobile devices, laptops, desktops, APs, Rokus, Chromecasts, they all have issues keeping connection.
    • All the physically connected device would be fine
    • A reboot solves it, but only temporarily, then another device will have the same issue.
    • Since this router supports dynamic DNS services and gives me consistent speeds of about 25mbps on the PPTP tunnel, I would highly recommend this device to anyone wishing to accomplish the same
    • This router is waaaaay better than the crappy D-link ebr2310 router I had previously
