    TP-Link Wireless N300 2T2R Access Point, 2.4Ghz 300Mbps, 802.11b/g/n, AP/Client/Bridge/Repeater, 2x 4dBi, Passive POE (TL-WA801ND)

    • (It was slow with the stock firmware too, hence the update.
    • The most recent firmware (150-422) fixes the chromecast problems (3) but the "new connection" problem (2) persists
    • It's mind-boggling to me why TP-Link would continue to ship this product with clearly (in my opinion) defective firmware, when a freeware firmware exists that allows the product to do what it's advertised to do
    • I downloaded the previous firmware, 130121 published 1/21/2013, and downgraded the firmware on the access point.
    • So far I'm using the stock firmware on this router in "Universal Repeater" mode and it just works.
    • The first thing I did was check that the firmware on the TP-LINK was the latest available on the TP-LINK support website.
    • Finally, after chasing many dead ends, I tried downgrading the firmware on the TP-LINK (to version "3.13.30 Build 130121 Rel.69318n", available on the TP-LINK site).
    • Trying a newer firmware now but this WAP never shipped woth stable firmware or has a hardware design flaw.
    • i'm getting a Netgear router that has options for any case scenario.... with all that said its probably fine for most people but really TP-Link write some better firmware....

    • My TP-LINK Access Point allows me the use of Netflix and other applications on my tv without any disruptions, as well as internet service to my PC and my tablets; it works as I had hoped
