• Reviews around unit (3.73 of 5)

    TP-Link Wireless N300 2T2R Access Point, 2.4Ghz 300Mbps, 802.11b/g/n, AP/Client/Bridge/Repeater, 2x 4dBi, Passive POE (TL-WA801ND)

    • So far so good, the unit was easy to set up, all my wireless devices can use it and am happy
    • There is only one Ethernet connector; so, this unit, by itself, isn't sufficient to act as a router
    • Setup was simple (though I am an IT pro) and throughput is impressive for an inexpensive unit
    • I really like these units
    • Unit has issues.
    • Very nice unit for the money.
    • The unit works great and I would recommend to anyone looking to expand their WiFi in dead spotsReview update on 3/1/12: This Access Point still delivers great performance
    • This unit was very easy to set up
    • Very nice unit for the price.
    • Good unit for the money.
    • So far I would definitely recommend this unit
    • Unit was easy to configure and has great range
    • The good news was that a quick call to the CS department took care of the whole thing and the defective unit was shipped back
    • This unit might work fine for an apartment, but for our house we eventually gave up on it after a few months and replaced it with a more powerful professional unit.

    • Good little unit for the cost.
    • Nice unit.
    • These units work well and are very affordable.
    • UNIT FAILED JUST SHORT OF 2-YEAR MARK
    • Called tp-link technical support and after lengthy tests they said unit was defective.
    • Highly recommend TP Link unit after 5 days of operation.
    • Both units have one of their antenna sockets connected to external 9 dbi gain antennas with the antennas, of course, oriented toward each other.
    • Good unit, works as expected
    • However, I am now able to stream video effectively in the room so the unit works as promised
    • This unit worked for only one week, and then one day started to generate some smoke and finally caught on fire
    • This unit has quite a few options and although I found it tricky due to confusion on my part, once I got the setting right it is an awesome unit.
    • The TP 801 unit I bought in 2013 is still working fine, so there is something wrong with this
    • Signal is strong throughout the house, configuration was easy, the unit is very stable.
    • That second unit finally just stopped working although its SSID remains visible; if you connect to it, you get a connection but there's no data streaming through the device
    • There is a hvac unit between my router and this AP, so that degrades the signal by alot
    • The amount of time I spent on this exercise made me hate this unit and vow to NEVER buy anything from TP-Link
    • Unit would not work as repeater or in bridge mode
    • The firmware apparently changed between the time the manual was written and my batch went out, since the manual described a menu similar to the 701N, leading to much confusion as I messed with updating firmware to the latest, scouring the web, and ultimately wasted an hour on hold for support, only to have them read the manual to me
