Tripp Lite 750VA UPS Battery Backup, 450W Eco Green, USB, RJ11, 12 Outlets (ECO750UPS)

    • When the battery goes dead it will no longer recharge properly
    • THE BATTERY WAS LOOSE INTERNALLY
    • That's all not too surprising given the price point - a similar capacity UPS with replaceable batteries would cost at least twice as much
    • It's easy to install, fits on my desk, provides protection for my system, eliminate crashes from sudden electrical surges, and will alert me if there is an overload or the battery is weak.
    • The "problem" could be a low battery or being overloaded.
    • This battery will not work as a desktop backup
    • Tripplite quality, easy battery replacement and now with and LCD display for $50.
    • One guess why - cheap batteries.
    • Determined battery had failed
    • with the new battery is working fine once again.
    • Why Tripp-Lite is marketing this unit as 'green' is a mystery to me as the battery is not replaceable once it fails - a fact confirmed by telephone to Tripp-Lite Pre-Sales Technical Support ( 773.869.1234).
    • Battery is fine but all the battery backup outlets are dead and won't function.
    • When I ran the "test" it indicated the backup battery was bad.
    • After calling the Tripp Lite Co., I was told that we probably received one that had been on the shelf a long time and had drained the battery.
    • But when the battery is dead, it is impossible to see until you unplug it
    • From there, I sat back and turned on my monitor... and before I could even put my hand on the keyboard, the battery fully drained and everything died!SUMMARYIn my

    • and It informed me the battery was bad
    • It works very well and I'm sure it will provide us with enough battery backup for the occasional power outages that we have
    • the power went out for really long periods of time on previous units, those units would drain the battery until it was dead
    • I'd also observe that if you do have an extended power failure make sure you shut down the equipment that's plugged into this properly rather than letting it run until the batteries are dead, or it won't come back when power is restored
    • Very good battery backup
    • But the heavy battery inside the case is not completely secured, and was able to shift up and over just enough to hit a black plastic internal retainer wall, which shattered into about a dozen tiny pieces
    • Easy to set up -- don't have to struggle with installing the battery unlike the equivalent APC UPS, however the battery is not changeable when it dies
    • When the battery goes bad, those outlets won't even come on (unlike most UPS systems)
    • My unit worked just fine for the first few months, then the battery failed and within a short time of the battery failing, the entire unit did not provide any power.
    • Very eco and has a good battery life
    • I ordered the Tripp Lite and the battery was totally dead.
    • The battery is solid and the unit tells me how much time is left on it based on its current use
    • I also have the issue with it not wanting to power on if the battery is dead/has been unplugged
    • I have 8 other units from APC and Cyber Power and no issues other than replace a battery
    • The "ECO750 UPS" is sealed up tight, so it looks like when the battery finally goes kaput, you need to replace the whole thing (or shell out money to have a pro do the job -- which probably wouldn't be cost-efficient).This "can't fix it
