The sound is decidedly darker than a brass trumpet and the intonation while not bad is far from what I get with a Schilke or Kanstul but quite useable in the right setting

(as Wayne Bergeron said, you kind of have to "blow it into submission"), but it has a great, mellow sound, & the valve action is quick & light

It doesn't hurt that the price of the Tromba is approximately that of a REALLY cheap beginner student horn, but has much better sound and action

I tried a Tiger Trumpet, and didn't like the sound
