You cannot exactly get the correct position that you want 100% of the time, but the good thing is that the tablet can be rotated and tilted

The gooseneck is stiff enough to stay in place once it is set in the right position.

Be aware that the neck is very stiff which allows for stable positioning, but may be difficult for elderly.
