The case is large enough to accomodate the phone along with the protective case just as promised.

What I do now is remove the silicone covering around the Otterbox so it still has the hard plastic case and slide that in

And I REALLY like that I do not have to remove the phone from the protective case in order to use it.

Now that I have moved to the Galaxy S5 with a Defender Otterbox case, this arm band still fits, albeit a little short on the top, but it works for me.

My solution is to remove the rubber outer shell of the defender case( VERY EASY AND FAST) and LEAVE the hard plastic shell on the phone (every hard to remove anyway)
