That is most of the truth, what i did not see mentioned was that for this to work you need a male 2.5mm to male 3.5mm cable or a adapter cable for this to work

Both of these set ups had previously worked with an original xbox adapter.

This adapter doesn't work any better than the standard turtle beach adapter.

This adapter works perfectly with those headphones.

I like this adapter because it has mic monitoring so you don't feel closed in, but it has a lot of issues with dropping sound.
