The units will static if there are objects blocking the line-of-sight between the transmitter and receivers.
This is a worthwhile unit to have, especially for seniors who are gradually becoming a bit hard of hearing.
I tested the unit behind the couch and even worked there
The Unit has a higher frequency volume augmentation built-in which makes people with high frequency deficiency (can't hear high tones with speach or music) enjoy their audio sounds
As for the music it was sharper and better than my expensive stereo system
However, if you just want reasonable decent quality sound (better than most TV's speakers) at an affordable price - I recommend the TV Ears Wireless Speaker System.
I was contemplating an expensive speaker system with woofers and other expensive components
I highly recommend this system as we all know most modern TV's have poor quality sound.
If I were to do it over again I would spend and another $100 and get a better sound system.
