But if it's dropped I'm not confident the case won't break and my phone wont break.

This cover is brittle and does not withstand drops.

but I can see where it may easily crack with a "just-right" drop

The phone was dropped about three feet from the ground and the corner broke off

It handle a few accidental drops perfectly.

For whatever reason, after the case was dropped (with phone inside) on CARPET after only a few weeks of having it, the case cracked

The corners break easily when dropped, but my phone survived being dropped from the top of my lofted bed (about a 6 foot drop) onto a tile floor without a scratch

Upon first drop of the phone in this new case, the case cracked and is now unusable.

but it's pretty flims and honestly it doesn't feel like it would protect my phone from a real hard drop

It's only survived a few drops as a whole and has slowly been breaking apart chunk by chunk

Essentially, it seems like the plastic part is just your classic plastic case that will break if dropped; but the dark purple rubber lining (sorry I don't know a better way to describe it) seems to provide extra protection and absorb shock

It seems thick enough to protect but at the same time the plastic feels stiff and may crack/scratch when dropped

I am clumsy and have dropped my phone multiple times, and it has yet to crack once

They are beautiful and sleek but sturdy enough to protect their phones from hard drops

Rubber insets on sides and ends will hopefully help prevent damage when dropped.

Unfortunately, this case shattered on the very first accidental drop!
